What is Dofollow & Nofollow link?

Talking on Search Engine Optimization, where common names are noindex, doindex, nofollow, dofollow, meta robots, etc. All the words have equal importance in SEO. In this post I will be explaining about Nofollow and Dofollow. Especially those who are newbies to SEO or people who are still not clear about Nofollow or dofollow, this post will be useful.

Nofollow

Nofollow is an HTML attribute value for instructing search engines bots that a hyperlink should not impact the link target’s ranking in the search engine’s index. It is predetermined to trim the effectiveness of certain types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spamdexing.

Nofollow links attributes disallow search engine bots to follow the link. This means website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice. Only humans can follow the links. Even though Google made clear that they don’t deal with nofollow link attributes but the weight of such links is less. But it’s a good practice to use the Nofollow link attribute to those links, where you don’t want to pass link-juice.

An example of Nofollow Link:

Dofollow

By default, all links are dofollow links unless they are modified to be nofollow links manually or are automatically changed by a website setting. Search engine crawlers follow dofollow links. Else they continue to crawl other pages they discover through standard links.

Dofollow links pass along what the SEO community commonly calls “link juice.” By studying which webpages are often linked to, search engines can determine how highly websites should rank in search results.

In contrast, nofollow links have a bit of code that asks search engines to not crawl them or count them as votes of quality. Sometimes you may not be able to confirm for all links on your website, especially if they are user-submitted or links to advertisements.

SEO Techniques to Drive Organic Traffic in 2019

In today’s world, Digital MarketingSEO techniques can change on time the bad part is, that you might not even know it. Tricks that could have won you a front-page result as recently as 2018 are not only obsolete now, but they may even hurt your website’s rankings. Especially if those so-called “tricks” land your site a Google penalty that’s tough to shift.

That’s why you need to stay on top in SEO. If not, you’ll fall behind and see your competitors zoom past you in the SERPs(Search Engine Result Pages).

Effective SEO Techniques to Drive Organic Traffic in 2019

  • Improve user experience across your entire site
  • Optimize for voice search
  • Focus on topic clusters instead of keywords
  • Longer Content Equals Higher Ranking—Usually
  • Conquer video with YouTube SEO
  • Build a variety of back-links
  • Get a grip over technical optimization
  • Target local searchers with local landing pages and listings
  • Know how to measure SEO performance
Ready? Let’s jump in!

Improve user experience across your entire site

When you improve user experience, you help guide your website visitors through the conversion funnel. Customers encounter fewer obstacles on their way to make a purchase.

The conversion funnel turns prospects into leads and leads into customers.

A prospect visits your website for the first time. He or she might read a blog post or poke around the main navigation pages. If that person has a favorable impression of your business, he or she might follow you on social or sign up for your email list.

Once you have the prospect’s contact information, you have a lead. You can begin nurturing that customer toward a purchase by providing exceptional value through tips, advice, discounts, and free tools.

If you haven’t taken the time to improve user experience, however, your prospect or lead might grow cold. He or she decides not to give your business more time — or money — because of friction that person encountered while navigating your website and other online presences.

Optimize for Voice Search

Since search engines were first introduced to the mainstream in the mid-1990s, users have learned how to succinctly enter keyword phrases to find information on the internet using a PC. Unlike search keyword phrases that you type into your computer, voice search is more conversational and natural in tone. Voice search is also typically mobile and often locally focused.

For example, when I traveled to you, my smartphone knew where I was physically located. So when I searched for a restaurant, my phone anticipated where I was, and the search results for restaurants were all in that area.

Because they’re more conversational, voice search queries are also usually longer than typical text keyword search queries.

It’s important to remember that the whole purpose of these new technologies is for the device to provide the best results for on-the-go searchers. To do this, the devices try to find easily identifiable, short and relevant pieces of content to serve back to the searcher. Here are some tips that can help you optimize for voice search.

Focus on Topic Clusters Instead of Keywords

Last year, topic clusters became the newest SEO strategy, making keyword planning an outdated tactic for ranking well in search. While this new SEO strategy has changed the game when it comes to search, it hasn't taken away keyword's relevance and importance to SEO.

Keywords have always ruled when it comes to ranking well in search engines. We, as marketers, have slaved over picking the right keywords. We've worried about picking keywords that exactly match what our buyers are searching for. We have produced a ton of content optimized around variations of keywords to ensure we meet our ideal buyers wherever they are searching.

Selecting keywords is an art that requires hours of researching, strategizing, executing and hoping that your ideal buyer searches the right term when all is said and done.

Longer Content Equals Higher Ranking—Usually

However, writing 2,000+ words for every blog post is not for everyone. It’s an intensive and time-consuming process – but most of all, sometimes it’s not necessary. Remember what we said about satisfying user intent?

Some search queries are by people who aren’t looking to digest a lengthy blog post. Their answer could be a matter of words or a few paragraphs, so the other 1,500+ words you’re pressuring yourself to create might be a total waste of time and energy.

Let’s take the “link building tips” keyword, for example. People searching for that phrase are likely looking for a comprehensive guide to link-building strategies they can use to conquer Google.

People searching for “link building do’s and don’ts”, on the other hand, might not need that lengthy type of content. A simple bullet-pointed list is probably all they’re looking for.

Unfortunately, there’s no hack to determine how long your content should be other than good old-fashioned common sense. Ask yourself what information someone would be looking for if they’re using a keyword you’re targeting, and start from there.

Concluded that 2,000+ words are necessary?

Conquer Video with YouTube SEO

YouTube videos rank in the top 10 of Google search far more often than any other type of video. And, according to Forbes, YouTube is also the second most popular search engine with more than 3 billion searches per month – surpassing Bing, Yahoo, and AOL combined.

Most SEO peoples forget about YouTube when they think of search engines. But if you’re smart, have a knack for creating engaging videos, and have the time to invest into optimizing each video for YouTube SEO, there’s no reason you can't build a huge audience on that platform. One YouTuber doubled their traffic with the same content after implementing YouTube SEO.

Build a Variety of Backlinks

Backlinks," meaning sites that link to your site, are, for most search engines, the supreme ranking factor. So is getting more organic traffic.

Because that traffic is directly related to the quality of the backlinks your website has, the more authoritative websites that link to you, the better rankings and traffic you’ll get.

And of course you want to keep an eye on your Google rankings. When crawling the web, Google looks in particular for your website’s backlinks, to understand how your pages are connected to one other and in what ways. Certainly there are hundreds of ranking factors. But backlinks represent the most important metric for SEO.

Now, needless to say, quality backlinks are hard to get, but they shouldn’t be. In fact there are smart ways to build or earn backlinks, to get authoritative websites to link to your online business.

Get a Grip on Technical Optimization and Digital Marketing

SEO and content tips aside, it’s absolutely essential to have a solid website, without worrying about any technical issues that may arise. Why would Google rank your site in position #1 if users are greeted with a ton of glitches?

You’ll need to get a grip on your technical SEO in order to rank well in 2019.

Target Local Searchers with Landing Pages and Listings

Almost half (46%) of all searches on Google are from people looking for local information. That could include:

Local shops
Opening hours
Telephone numbers
Addresses
So, if you have a brick-and-mortar business, you can’t neglect local SEO and listings if you want to stay profitable.

Here are three huge SEO techniques and to capture local people who could become your customers. After all, 72% of people who search for local businesses online end up visiting stores within a five mile radius!

Know How to Measure SEO Performance?

Correctly measuring the success of an SEO campaign and digital marketing can very greatly depending on the type of business you’re in and your objectives.

However, there are three key performance indicators (KPIs) that should always be considered when measuring an SEO campaign’s and digital marketing effectiveness:

Rankings
Traffic
Conversions

Not only can the information gathered from these three KPIs enable you to accurately measure your campaign’s performance, they can also provide you with actionable data to improve your campaign over time.

Search Engine Optimization

Learning SEO analyze the best information here...

:-) What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results.
➤ON-PAGE SEO
On-page SEO focuses on your website and content. Its aim is to ensure search engines and searchers can easily find, use, and understand your content. On-page SEO primarily helps Google and visitors decide whether your content is relevant and potentially helpful. Examples include title tags, meta tags, meta descriptions, headings, paragraphs, images, URLs, and internal as well as outgoing links.
➤OFF-PAGE SEO
Off-page SEO centers on external ranking signals like backlinks and online mentions of your business and/or website. Assuming your content is relevant to a search query, off-page SEO mostly helps Google decide where to position it in search results. Examples include an incoming hyperlink from an external website or an unlinked mention of your company or website on social media, a website forum, a question and answer site, an online directory, or any other external website.

:-) Types of SEO.
          ➤ Grey Hat SEO
          ➤ Black Hat SEO
          ➤ White Hat SEO

Grey Hat SEO:-  It falls somewhere in the middle as these tactics are not specifically called out in Google’s Guidelines. You should be cautious about taking this path as it is not safe to assume that just because a specific technique isn’t labeled or mentioned as being deceptive and one that will get you into trouble, that it will not interfere negatively with your rankings.

Black Hat SEO:- It will get you where you want to go faster. It is usually less costly because you are taking shortcuts to the top by going against published Google Webmaster Guidelines. In fact, many black hat SEO tactics are specifically spelled out in the guidelines as things you should NOT do. As such, they carry the risk that your website and/or content will rank lower, be banned from search results, or demoted the next time Google updates its ranking algorithm. That is no small concern. Google updates its ranking algorithm roughly 500-600 times a year.

White Hat SEO:- The techniques, on the other hand, adhere to Google Webmaster Guidelines but usually take longer and cost more to carry out. White hat SEO carries far less risk and tends to deliver lasting and compounding value over time. You’ll find most of the respected SEO and content marketing companies like Moz, Search Engine Journal, Search Engine Watch, Search Engine Land, Search Engine Roundtable, the SEM Post, Stone Temple, GSQI, and Philadelphia-area Seer Interactive and SEMRush all use and recommend white hat SEO tools and techniques.
